What is it?
The AI Record Finder is your very personal AI assistant. Easy to use, with a simple interface, in the form of a chat, to help you with your research. Think about it, AI Record Finder for Genealogy is like ChatGPT for Google search, BUT easier, much easier.
Think of it as your research partner but on steroids. It can search through millions of records to dig out the ones you are interested in.
Enter basic information about your ancestor, such as name, birthdate, location, and relationships, and watch it in action.
I believe that AI Record Finder was not designed with seasoned genealogists in mind. I see this tool as the flying carpet that eases, family history enthusiasts, into the world of genealogy. If you find the huge databases intimidating, if you are wondering how and where to start your research, this is the perfect tool for you.
That said, even as an experienced genealogist, I am happy to add the AI Record Finder to my genealogy toolbox. I never know what records I might have missed so I want to cover all my bases.
How will you see the results?
The AI Record Finder, presents its findings in a clear and organized manner, listing potential record matches from a variety of sources, including census records, immigration records, obituaries and more. You can then open each record to view the details and assess its relevance before adding it to your tree.
Remember that at this point, the launch (January 2024), the AI Record Finder is still in its Beta version, which means that while it excels at finding basic records, it might struggle with more obscure ancestors or those with common names. So, again, it’s important to carefully evaluate each record before drawing any conclusions.
Beta version means that this tool is still under development and its capabilities will improve over time, to produce more accurate and elaborate results.
Hey, it’s not a magic bullet, but then again, no tool is, right? It has the potential to save us significant time and effort by pointing out leads we might otherwise miss.
While it’s not a replacement for traditional research, that will always be the ultimate method, the AI Record Finder will be a valuable asset in expanding your research and uncovering new information about your ancestors.
